Step 1 - Initial Consultation
We will visit you at your home for an initial consultation to discuss ideas and the feasibility of your scheme. Planning permission is not always needed and many homes have permitted development rights. We can investigate and advise upon the permitted development rights of your home during our visit. Once we have all the relevant information a quote will be given to you detailing costs for all of our services.
When you decide to proceed, our surveyor will conduct a measured survey of the property, usually within 7 - 10 working days.
Step 2 - Survey
Step 3 - Produce Plans
We will prepare an existing and proposed plan based on your wish list. This may include several draft ideas/options which will help you decide on the final layout and design, usually within 15 working days. We will then meet with you at your home to showcase the draft design and discuss any required modifications.
When you are happy with the final design, where required, we will liaise with third parties such as Wessex Water, Structural engineers etc.
Step 4 - Submit plans to local planning authority
Your plans will be submitted to the local authority by us on your approval of the design. We will follow the application and keep you fully informed of this process. This usually has a timescale of 8-10 weeks.
Step 5 - Building Control Submission
Once the planning process is complete, if required, building regulation plans will be submitted by us and building work can usually start 5 working days after registration. We will guide you through this process and liaise with building control on your behalf if necessary.
